Gradebook
In addition to acting as a retrieval point for courseworks, the online gradebook has also been improved to include:
- Display letter grades, percentages, or raw scores.
- Calculate letter grades and custom define their values (e.g. 95 - 100 = A+). Gradebook Settings-Manage Display Options
- Sort data in a number of different ways such as alphabetically by student name (row), assignment name (columns) or by scores within individual items.
- Add custom gradebook categories (i.e. Tests, Projects, Labs, etc.). Gradebook Settings-Manage Gradebook Categories
- Calculate weighted percentages by individual gradebook items or by category.
- Enter a student's grade manually for an online assessment.
- Download and upload grades directly to/from gradebook.
Special Note: You can only upload one column (gradebook entry) at a time. You cannot upload an entire spreadsheet at once. Also for best results it is recommended that Instructors download and save the Blackboard gradebook, manipulate it, then upload the new version back into Blackboard. It is not advised to create a gradebook spreadsheet in Excel from scratch.
