Customizable Home Page
The "My Institution" Home page in Bbv5 has five information boxes. These boxes display:
- a list of "Tools" which allows direct access to personal management options, eg email, calendar, etc.,
- a "My Courses" list showing the names of the Blackboard modules on which you are registered,
- lists of "Announcements", "Calendar" events and "Tasks" associated with each Blackboard module on which you are registered.
Note: In Bbv6 these boxes are referred to as "modules". This a Blackboard term that applies only to the boxes on the "My Institution" home page and is not to be confused with our use of the term "modules" as a descriptor for the subjects we teach.
The main difference between the Bbv6 "My Institution" Home Page and the Bbv5 equivalent is that the Bbv6 version can be tailored to suit personal preferences. For example:
- the "My Courses" list can be modified to:
- display the module code as well as the module title,
- embed "Announcements", "Calendar" and "Tasks" into the "My Courses" list,
- the default "Calendar" and "Tasks" can be removed from the default layout,
- the layout can be rearranged,
- the page colours can be changed.
